Supporting student engagement at Danube University with Stream Lecture Capture (StreamLC)

StreamAMG has recognised the potential of online video within the higher education sector and is passionate about aiding the sector in achieving its aspirations for improving student experience and innovation through video.

Danube University is based in Austria, with its courses specifically oriented toward the needs of working professionals. In January 2017, Danube chose to implement StreamLC, StreamAMG’s solution for the higher education sector. The university made the decision with the aim of enhancing the learning experience of its students by providing recorded lectures for revision and on demand viewing.

Founded in 1994, with 8,500 students currently enrolled, Danube University Krems (Donau-Universität Krems) and StreamAMG partnered with the shared desire for excellence and innovation in academia. Following discussions with Peter Klinka the E-Learning Manager for Danube, a deal was agreed and StreamAMG aided in the implementation of our bespoke lecture capture solution across the university wherever it was required.

Since its introduction, students have been able to access the lecture recordings through their Moodle environment, thus ensuring as smooth an integration into the normal functions of the university as possble. StreamAMG prides itself in seamlessly blending video into an established educational system, so that students have the best possible resources available to them at all times and our scalable players allow for smooth running on nearly all devices. The new system has proved hugely popular, with the University now looking to role it out even further across other departments.

Peter Klinka, E-Learning Manager, Danube said “I reviewed many Lecture Capture Solutions in the past year, and StreamAMG’s solution was by far the best one. It didn’t only have better features than other solutions, but it was also the leader when it came down to price-performance ratio.”
