From Vegas to the Alexandra Palace, via their MediaCityUK office, StreamAMG manage and ensure award winning delivery of both live events and VOD on demand content, to the global darts fan base.

On Monday 2nd January 2017, Michael Van Gerwen was for the 2nd time in his career crowned as William Hill World Darts Champion, after beating Gary Anderson in the final at London’s Alexandra Palace. The final, along with all other matches from the tournament were streamed in HD live on livepdc.tv, using StreamAMG’s Cloud Matrix transcoding module and content management systems.

The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) made the decision to partner with StreamAMG and leading digital agency Rippleffect, to develop and run its new and improved online subscription based service on a revenue split basis. The deal covers every major PDC event, with the first being the World Championships which ran from the 15th December to the 2nd January.

From Vegas to the Alexandra Palace, via their MediaCityUK office, StreamAMG manage and ensure award winning delivery of both live events and VOD on demand content, to the global darts fan base.

Throughout the World Championships content was watched in 163 different countries, with 121,817 hours’ worth of action being delivered. Feedback from darts fans across social media, Youtube and more has been extremely positive, with the quality of the video streams being far greater than anything the PDC has run before and the packages offering fans greater access to the content that they want to see. Video on demand access allowed subscribers to catch up on any of the live action they may have missed, with live streaming of the William Hill World Darts Championship only available for fans outside the UK, Ireland and Netherlands, due to broadcasting restrictions.
