Hachette’s ‘Children’s Authors Live’ Series

StreamAMG Providing Webcasting Solutions to Hachette’s ‘Children’s Authors Live’ Series

Hachette UK is a leading UK trade publishing group. The group is made up of several publishing companies and imprints including Headline Publishing Group, Hodder & Stoughton, John Murray, Quercus, Orion Publishing Group, Octopus Publishing Group, Hachette Children’s Group, Little, Brown Book Group and Hodder Education. Hachette UK is owned by Hachette Livre, the world’s second largest trade and educational publisher.

As part of Hachette’s ‘Children’s Authors Live’ series, StreamAMG help to produce and stream live events from schools and libraries around the country, that are then broadcast live onto Hachette’s website. The content of each show can vary from an interview with the chosen author, to a solo presentation to a room full of excited children, with the schools all tuning in to the live stream to watch.

Examples of Authors we have worked with:

Nadiya Hussain – Bake Me a Story

Cressida Cowell – How to Train Your Dragon

Robert Muchamore – Cherub Series

Steve Backshall – The Falcon Chronicles

Frank Lampard – Frankie’s Magic Football

Francesca Simon – Horrid Henry

How we help (Using the example of Nadiya Hussain):

  • Our Production team firstly made a site visit to assess the filming area and also the connectivity and its suitability for streaming live. This is crucial to ensure the highest possible quality of end result.
  • The Production team on the day provided three Sony PMW500 broadcast cameras, Plasmas screens for presentation and VT playback, a full audio solution including in room PA and lighting provisions for filming.
  • This is all combined and mixed into a live feed by our in house engineers and streamed live using our MP platform
  • The Live player is then embedded into the Hachette ‘Children’s Authors Live’ website ready for all the schools to tune in
