Working with creative industries is always a great opportunity to test the waters of innovation.
In October 2010, StreamUK streamed the first live showcase for ‘Blackbox’, a creative project managed by The Roundhouse Camden.
Their leading online video platform was used to utilise video content and stream live onto the Blackbox MySpace page, generating an online audience the size of Wembley Stadium.
In partnership with Level 3 communications, StreamUK developed their Stream MP platform to provide seamless video content that is accessible for ‘Blackbox’ fans in multiple formats all over the world.
The first 10 minutes generated over 40,000 viewers whilst social media was used as an intermediary tool to guide information and send broadcast notifications.
The statistics provided by the StreamUK/Level 3 media platform gave clear and concise reports of online traffic and in-depth specifics for the project’s success with online activity.
The result was a creative initiative achieving substantial social recognition, which evolved into a visually recognised brand, utilising an effective media platform through creative talent.
The triumph of StreamUK’s involvement has prompted many discussions regarding the future potential for live streaming, and the prospect of capitalisation for content providers.
